Brazil Vs Portugal – Say Hello To Your Rivals in Their Native Tongue

With the World Cup kicking off this evening, we thought we’d give you all a quick Portuguese and Croatian lesson so you can all say friendly hellos to each other or the fans before cheering your heads off!

Brazilian Portuguese is a set of dialects of the Portuguese language and is spoken by virtually all of the 200 million inhabitants of Brazil and possibly two million Brazilian emigrants. Brazilian Portuguese has had its own development so this variant of the Portuguese language is somewhat different, mostly in phonology, from the variant spoken in Portugal

Croatian is the standardised variety of the Serbo-Croatian language used by Croats, principally in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Serbian province of Vojvodina and other neighbouring countries. It is the official and literary standard of Croatia and one of the official languages of the European Union.

Use the videos below for some super quick language lessons that you can try out later. Enjoy and best of luck to both sides!
